Booking forms for courses

The MS National Centre runs three courses which aim to offer an induction to all new branch volunteers and train support volunteers in their role. These are delivered through the regional network in England throughout the year. The dates and the locations of the courses will be publicised via Teamspirit each month. As committee members who receive Teamspirit, please make sure that information about these courses is passed to other volunteers in the branch who will benefit from attending them.

Please complete the appropriate booking form and return to the volunteering team by email, volunteering@mssociety.org.uk or by post to National Centre.

Training provided by external organisations

There are local organisations who provide free or low cost relevant training that you can access for all of your volunteers. This training is normally provided by Councils for Voluntary Services (CVS) or Volunteer Centres.

  • Councils for Voluntary Services promote and develop local voluntary and community action and provide support for voluntary and community groups, individual volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations.

You can find your nearest CVS in the local phone directory or at the NAVCA website.
  • Volunteer Centres provide advice, training, support and information on volunteering issues.

You can find your nearest Volunteer Centre in the local phone directory or at the Volunteering England Website.

Below are details of the training that is on offer in your region.

Train to Gain

‘Train to Gain’ is government funding for vocational qualifications that has recently been made available to volunteers. The funding is available for almost any vocational qualification and may be of interest to some volunteers and staff. There are, of course, many other criteria to meet.

The short briefing below sets out the funding criteria and suggests how this funding may be of use to volunteers and staff within the Society.
