The MS Society and The Information Standard

Information is one of the five key objectives of the MS Society. This means that the Society has a confirmed commitment to:

Ensure that the MS Society produces up-to-date, accurate and accessible information on MS issues, tailored to meet the needs of people affected by MS.

The MS Society is, therefore, pleased to be a member of the Testing Network for the introduction of information accreditation for health and social care under The Information Standard.

The list of titles under the Standard is regularly updated. Download the latest version:
Core Publications May 09.doc (38 kb) [doc]

The list of core information and MS Essentials series of titles are produced under an agreed formal Publications protocol (83 kb) [doc] emphasising:

  • close involvement of people affected by MS
  • the evidence base
  • up to dateness
  • clarity of language

The Society will, during 2009, seek to gain accreditation for its publications aimed at people affected by multiple sclerosis. The Society is committed to using the Information Accreditation scheme for health and social care to maintain and improve its information provision for its primary audiences, people affected by multiple sclerosis, and their social networks.

For more information on The Information Standard see the Department of Health website.
