Local Support Development Officer

On the 1st April 2005, the Branch and Regional Support Team became the Local Support Team, as Local Support became the collective term for MS Society activities in the Community.

As a consequence, Branch Development Workers became known as Local Support Development Officers. Their roles now include supporting the work of the North of England’s Regional Committee as well as the branches.

The current Local Support Development Officer is Jeremy Harris.

The aim of Jeremy's role is to provide branches and the Regional Committee with a wide range of practical support.

Particular areas of focus include helping branches achieve and maintain the Essentials and assist with the recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Also an important part of his work is ensuring branches and the regional Committee are able to meet their obligation in terms of health and safety and governance issues.
