In the Lancashire, Greater Manchester & South Cumbria region we try to cover a wide range of issues relevant to our members and our communities.

Lancashire Loop Cycle
You’ll pass through picturesque villages and stunning valleys including the Lune Valley, Bowlands Fells and the Ribble Valley.
Each route is circular starting and finishing at Cockerham Village Hall, near Lancaster where there are parking facilities and refreshments will be available.
The routes are clearly marked and marshalled with power stations throughout plus support vans and first aid assistance.
£15 registration fee. £100 minimum sponsorship.

Chairing the Branch - Guidance on the practical aspects of managing a successful committee - ideal for all levels of experience.
Grants - This is a core activity for many branches but can still cause major problems. A speaker from the grants team at MSNC will be coming. Not just for support officers but for all those involved in making decisions on grants.
Fundraising - the fundraising team will help with ideas and planning. Please note we need at least 8 volunteers to sign up or this option will not run. Last year it was sadly cancelled due to lack of numbers, so please book your place.
Providing good services - Advice on setting up an exercise or therapy group including guidance on service level agreements and risk assessments for existing services.
Recruiting and retaining volunteers - Cancelled as this was the topic of our last round of sector meetings.
Welcome aboard - a valuable introduction to the MS Society for all new volunteers.

The Preston meetings at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals will take place at 2.30pm on the following dates:
Tuesday 31st August 2010, Monday 8th November 2010, Monday 7th February 2011, Tuesday 10th May 2011, Wednesday 24th August 2011 and Thursday 17th November 2011.
The Preston meeting is for Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Westmorland, Furness, Pendle and Burnley, Lancaster, Clitheroe, Blackburn and Rossendale branches.
