Do you want to make a difference in your community? Volunteer with us!
Here in the Kent region, volunteers are our life-force; enabling us to provide the support, advice and services at a local level. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our branches and help collectively make even more of a difference to people affected by MS in the community.
Right now, branches across Kent need more helping hands…
Vice Chair - Would you like to work with the branch chair to help lead the branch and oversee activities? You could make a positive difference to the way the branch supports people affected by MS and support the branch chair with their role.
MS Support Officers - The branch would like to recruit more MS support volunteers to work as part of a team together. You could be answering enquiries, carrying out home visits (should you wish to do these) and generally providing information, support and advice to people affected by MS in the local area. Full training will be provided and a Criminal Records Bureau check will be required.
Fundraising Volunteers – You could help organise, coordinate and support fundraising events, either in their planning, on the day itself or afterwards. This role could include arranging local events, collecting funds at flag days, representing the branch at community events or liaising with individuals.
Publicity Officer - Do you have good communication skills and enjoy spreading the word? The branch is looking for a publicity officer to promote both the branch’s work, its events and increase the profile of MS in the community. You will also help develop the promotional materials and create links with the local media.
Social Secretary - We would love to welcome someone to coordinate social activities for our members, arranging talks, outings and events, contacting speakers, arranging for payment and liaising frequently with our Secretary and Chair. You will also plan and produce a “calendar of events”.
Vice Chair - Our branch chair helps lead our team and ensures that the committee works together to provide the services and activities necessary to meet the needs of local people affected by MS. Could you work with the branch chair to help lead the team and oversee these activities?
You will ensure regular liaison on all major matters with the Chair and keep up to date on relevant issues relating to MS, the Society and the branch’s activities, policies and procedures
Fundraising Officer - We rely on branch fundraising ventures to run the services and support we can offer in the Maidstone area. We would love to welcome a new Fundraising Officer to take ownership of our fundraising goals for the year. Along with other volunteers, you will help organise and coordinate fundraising events, either in their planning, on the day itself or afterwards.
