Miss Sophie Nicholson-Cole

From Norwich gained the Bronze award.

 

Champion profile:

Sophie is twenty eight years old and lives in the Norwich area. As a close family member has MS, Sophie decided she would like to organise an event to make a contribution to the MS Society.

As an active person, Sophie felt a physical challenge would be ideal for her, and so she organised a Coast to Coast cycle ride from Norwich to Devon. The ride was a huge success, raising £1,236 for the MS Society. 

Sophie has a few tips for anyone thinking of organising their own fundraising event. Firstly, use the Just Giving website to organise your fundraising - visit www.justgiving.com for information. Design and make some posters and leaflets advertising your event, ideally containing the address of your Just Giving web page. Wear your MS Society T-shirt during your event and always carry a sponsor form. Sophie says that you should make sure you tell everyone you know about your event - you may be surprised how many people might know an MS sufferer and would like to support your cause.
