Nici Abbott

From Ferndown, Dorset gained the Bronze award.

 

Champion profile:

Nici is a Pharmacy Technician working at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. She is 45 years old and married to a fire fighter. They work hard to enable them to travel the world and own two rescued cats.

Nici took part in the Wiltshire Bigfoot in 2005. She says "it was inspirational, painful and very moving." She enjoyed the training and thought the organisation of the event was superb. Nici knows people with MS and wanted to do something challenging that would also raise money for a good cause.

Nici advises future fundraisers to write a letter to all your family and friends with an SAE enclosed. 95% of people donated as they knew someone with MS. Holding a raffle or baking cakes for sale will also help your fundraising. Nici says "believe in yourself and other people get caught up in your enthusiasm."
