The 2nd Keele Course on CNS Inflammation, 9-11 September 2011
This two day course on CNS Inflammation will take place in Keele University Medical School, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire on 9-11 September. The course is aimed at Consultants and Specialist Registrars in Neurology and specialist Nurses.Objectives & Format: To present updates, case histories and interactive presentations on various topics related to CNS inflammation and demyelination. Fees: £125.00, to include registration, accommodation for two nights and meals; five pounds will be donated to the MS Society and the MS Trust.

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Information day, Basingstoke, 14/09/11
Two hundred fully funded places are available on this education day, taking place on September 14 in the Ark Centre, Basingstoke, RG24 9NN.The programme is aimed at nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists and case managers, interested in finding out more about FES and how it might benefit people who have foot drop as a result of MS, Parkinson's disease, stroke, head injury or incomplete spinal injury.

Education Meeting for GP’s, Practice and Community Staff, Penrith, 11 October
On completion of the seminar, staff will be able to:- Understand the key challenges of living with Parkinson’s
Disease and MS, such as the challenges of mobility, communication, swallowing and the management of the wide range of non-motor features. - Identify the importance and complexity of drug management
- Understand the role of the GP with reference to the NICE guidelines for these conditions
- Recognise the role of the Parkinson’s UK and Multiple Sclerosis Society
- Evaluate their own practice and care of people with Parkinson's and MS

Introduction to postural management for people with MS
We are pleased to offer two study days on postural management for people with MS. These days are aimed at physiotherapists and occupational therapists working with people with long-term neurological conditions.The study days will take place in Sheffield on 21st October and London on 18th November. Both study days will be led by Olive German, BSc (Hons), MCSP.
